Above there is no mention of the 10 Mile race and 5k being on Sunday while Active.com lists it as so…..is Active correct?
Posted by G | February 24, 2013, 6:35 pmG- Both the Duathlon and the 5K races take place on April 28th. That is a Sunday. However, there is not a 10-mile race. The Duathlon consists of a 5k run, 20-mile bike, and 5k run. Hope you can make it!
Posted by Ryan Orilio | February 24, 2013, 6:43 pmI see a start time for the 5K, but not for the duathlon. What time does that begin?
Posted by Molly | March 7, 2013, 7:01 amThanks for pointing out that omission Molly! The Duathlon start time is 9am. Hope to see you there!
Posted by Ryan Orilio | March 7, 2013, 7:20 amHey Ryan – is it a hat or a tech t-shirt ???
Posted by Mrs. Mahaney ! | April 16, 2013, 11:37 amVernon Downs is a shirt. It was going to be a hat, but was changed.
Posted by Ryan Orilio | April 17, 2013, 8:33 pmYeah !!!!
Posted by Mrs. Mahaney ! | April 18, 2013, 8:04 amCan a 2-person team participate? One person to do the running parts and the other person to do the cycing?
Posted by Karen | March 7, 2013, 2:16 pmYes Karen! We are taking relay teams for the Duathlon. Just download and send in the relay form from the website (under registration) and good luck!
Posted by Ryan Orilio | March 7, 2013, 7:00 pmnot really seeing where I can sign up as a team, how much is it for a team? I seem to only be able to register via active? Please email me the downloadable form
Posted by Anne | April 17, 2013, 1:40 pmSorry you’re having trouble finding the form Anne. I will email it to you! Thanks for your interest!
Posted by Ryan Orilio | April 18, 2013, 7:36 pmI sound like an idiiot……but iis it 5K run, bike, then another 5K run, or just run, then bike???? Yikes, I’m a dimwit
Posted by johnny228 | March 11, 2013, 10:03 pmThe Duathlon is a 5k run, bike, and then another (same route) 5k run. Not a silly question!
Posted by Ryan Orilio | March 12, 2013, 6:22 amIs it a 5K run or a 3 mile run?
Posted by johnny228 | March 11, 2013, 10:04 pmhow do you register for the 5k race?
Posted by grace | March 13, 2013, 10:08 amHi is there a estimate to the number of competitors for the duathlon?
Posted by Brenden | April 16, 2013, 9:54 pmOn one webpage I saw 8am as the start time for the 5k race only. But then on another is says both the 5k and duathlon start at 9am. Just want to make sure I show up at the right time!
Posted by Ryan | April 18, 2013, 11:44 amBoth the 5k and du will be starting at 9am now…. Sorry for the confusion!
Posted by Ryan Orilio | April 18, 2013, 7:35 pmIs there a packet pick up time or place yet?
Posted by Sarah | April 19, 2013, 9:38 amSarah, packet pick up will be Saturday from 10-3 at Vernon Downs, or simply the morning of the race…. Details will be posted on the website today.
Posted by Ryan Orilio | April 21, 2013, 10:15 amSo just to be sure the 5k and Duathlon both start at 9am, correct?
Posted by Pat | April 22, 2013, 11:51 amYes Pat! That is correct!
Posted by Ryan Orilio | April 25, 2013, 5:59 pmI didn’t see the information posted about packet pick up untill this week. I was unable to get that day off from work. As I don’t get out till 3pm, is there a way I can pick the packet up a day early or later than 3pm?
Posted by Helen Arsenault | April 24, 2013, 10:40 amHeather, you can pick up your packet on the morning of the race. ATC staff will be available beginning at around 7:00 a.m.
Posted by Karen Davis | April 25, 2013, 5:02 pmI’m confused. Where is the 10 mile run that’s listed in the central ny race schedule. It’s says decide Sunday on the 5k or 10 mile run event????
Posted by Ron tyler | April 26, 2013, 9:59 pmRon I think you might be confused with the turning stone races in August which has a 5k on Saturday and 10k on Sunday.
Posted by Ryan | April 26, 2013, 11:04 pmAbsolutely not looking at aug. go to cnyrunning.com. Race calendar indicates my earlier question. Your race shows two days and specifically a 5k OR 10 mile run on Sunday.
Posted by Ron tyler | April 27, 2013, 4:23 amRon… The calendar at CNY is incorrect. I’m sorry for any confusion. There is both a 5k and duathlon that both take off Sunday at 9am. You can register for either at the Vernon downs hotel today and tomorrow starting at 7am.
Posted by Ryan Orilio | April 27, 2013, 10:26 amI registered months ago. I was planning for a 10 miler this weekend. Oh well things happen. I will probably still come for 5k.
Posted by Ron tyler | April 27, 2013, 1:04 pmRon- you should have been refunded your money for the 10 mile if you already registered. In you were not please email us at atcendurance@gmail.com and we will definitely do that for you. If you still want to run, come on out and run the 5k. Bring a friend and we’ll even discount his registration another ten bucks. Again, I apologize for any confusion or miscommunication on our part.
Posted by Ryan Orilio | April 27, 2013, 1:42 pmI’m totally disappointed. It looks like the active.com listing of 10 mile run on Sunday does not exist. I was prepared for a different race. Is this a mess up? It talks about a two day event?
Posted by Ron tyler | April 26, 2013, 10:08 pmWill there be markers at each mile?
Posted by Ryan | April 26, 2013, 11:00 pmRyan- there will be mile markets for the 5k but not for the bike.
